International Students

Virginia Wesleyan University has a diverse student body which is comprised of students from different ethnic backgrounds from the U.S. as well as students from several different countries.  In fact, U.S. News & World Report ranks VWU in the top 25 of most ethnically diverse national liberal arts institutions in the country  . The University provides students from foreign countries a home away from home for four years. 51Âþ»­ios offers services and activities to assist international students with their transition to college life in the United States.

In recent years, 51Âþ»­ios has enrolled students from Bulgaria, Korea, Germany, Trinidad, Senegal, Cote D'Ivoire, The Netherlands, The United Kingdom, Canada, Northern Cyprus, Brazil, France, Australia, Mexico, Ukraine, and China.

51Âþ»­ios Global Scholarship & Financial Assistance

Affordability has always been a top priority at 51Âþ»­ios. VWU offers a multi-faceted plan of affordability that includes but isn't limited to freezing tuition cost for the fourth consecutive year, a renewable merit scholarship program, an expanded Work & Learn Program for student employment, and affordable out-of-semester 12-month course options.

International students who enroll in the traditional day program at 51Âþ»­ios to complete a bachelor's degree will receive a merit scholarship valued at a minimum of $21,000 per year.

International students are also eligible for our $1,000 visit grant (virtual visit options available) and our Campus Cooperative employment program through our Work and Learn initiative.
