The University's Bachelor of Arts in Recreation and Leisure Studies is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Related Professions (). The Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (). VWU's Professional Education Program is approved by the Virginia Board of Education () according to standards set out in the Code of Virginia and .
