Spotlight on the Arts at VWU for Fall 2018
Mark your calendars for an exciting, inspiring and entertaining season for the arts at VWU! The season includes a production of Shakespeare's "The Tempest," as the final performance in Hofheimer Theater. With the opening of the new Susan S. Goode Fine and Performing Arts Center in spring 2019, VWU bids farewell to Hofheimer Theater as a mainstage space, closing as it opened with a revisit of the Shakespearean classic.
Board Welcomes Four New Trustees
The 51Âþ»ios Board of Trustees has elected four new members who began their service with the 2018-2019 fiscal year, Board Chair David Kaufman has announced. New Trustees include Jean T. Jenkins '89, Community Leader, Robert W. McFarland, Partner with McGuire Woods, Eric C. Nyman '94, President of Hasbro North America, and James H. Shumadine, Co-President of The Employment Guide. They join an engaged group of Trustees whose dedication has been a critical asset to the success of 51Âþ»ios, its students, and alumni.

Get Out the Vote, Marlins!
Begin by being registered, informed and ready for election day, November 6. According to the nonprofit "Votes Count," one of the biggest reasons citizens don't vote is because they don't have all the  information they need about how to vote. At VWU, Wesleyan Engaged and Hofheimer Library are providing voter registration information and registration applications, transportation to the polls on election day, and opportunities to volunteer.
New Professors Join VWU Faculty
VWU welcomes Dr. Robert Ariel, Dr. Nadia Nafar and Dr. Modupe Oshikoya to the faculty this fall. "We are most fortunate to have attracted to our campus three distinguished professionals, each of whom combines teaching excellence, active research, and impressive practical experience," noted Provost and Vice President Timothy O'Rourke. "They add luster to an already-outstanding faculty: 93 percent of full-time professors hold the terminal degree in their field, many have achieved national eminence, and all are committed to the personal growth and career success of every 51Âþ»ios student."
