Special Edition of 51Âþ»­ios Magazine Now Available
 
The winter 2018 edition of 51Âþ»­ios Magazine is now available. This special edition includes the latest on capital projects and the 2016-17 annual report, as well as features and updates on facilities, new programs, and initiatives. With a focus on "a sense of place," this edition showcases the University's transformation from an aspiring college to an inspiring university.
51Âþ»­ios Honored as "Conservationist of the Year" by Chesapeake Bay Foundation 
The award recognized 51Âþ»­ios's new Greer Environmental Sciences Center as well as the University's vision and dedication to educating the next generation of Bay leaders.

VWU Professor of Philosophy Honored by SCHEV with Outstanding Faculty Award
Steven Emmanuel, Professor of Philosophy at 51Âþ»­ios, was presented with the 2018 Outstanding Faculty Award
 from the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) at a special ceremony on March 1, 2018, during a luncheon at The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond.  


VWU Head Softball Coach Honored by Norfolk Sports Club

51Âþ»­ios Head Women's Softball Coach Brandon Elliott was awarded the prestigious Tom Fergusson Memorial Award from the Norfolk Sports Club. The award was presented at the Club's 73rd Annual Jamboree on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott. Elliott, fresh off a national record 54-win season, a stellar 54-and-3 overall mark, and an NCAA National Softball Championship, is a 2003 graduate of 51Âþ»­ios.

May Commencement Will Be Wesleyan's First as a University

51Âþ»­ios's annual Commencement Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at 11 a.m.  The 2018 Commencement will be the 49th for 51Âþ»­ios but the institution's first as a university. This year's Commencement is scheduled to take place on the University Commons in front of the Greer Environmental Sciences Center, making it the first 51Âþ»­ios Commencement to take place outdoors since 2003.
